The teeth thing was in regard to the bassoon, which I've heard requires strong front teeth.
It'll try the exercises you suggest, and yes, I'll PLAY! It's true that "nothing succeeds like success" and if I see myself breaking through the old barriers I'll be amped, let me tell you!
My teacher is a full time professional oboist, so no worries there.
I'm just finishing up answering my email, so once that is done, it'll be time to take up the instrument and give it a squawk.
