Hi everyone and thank you for this great forum dedicated to oboes. We're a small music store in Denver, Colorado that specializes in american & european made band & orchestra instruments. When it comes to oboes, we recommend Linton, Bundy / Selmer, and Noblet. We prefer the older wood models over the newer resin instruments but make sure you fully inspect all used wood oboes for cracks in the body especially around the key holes. Also, make sure if you purchase a used wooden one that it is not missing any parts.
We do have a few vintage oboes for sale by the way if anyone is interested. Our oboes are all professionally adjusted / repaired and guaranteed band/orchestra director approved. We also offer free instrument appraisals if any of you are curious what your oboe might be worth or if you'd like to know more about it's history.
Thanks for allowing us to post here and do not hesitate to call or email us with questions.
