Hi EJ
I'm a senior who began playing the oboe in 2006. I found an older
used Fox Renard 330 which is a modified Conservatory oboe. It has
just about everything an intermediate student would need. It's all
plastic which is not a bad idea for a beginner who doesn't know how
to care for an all wood instrument yet.
You are more experienced at playing wind instruments than I, but how
serious are you about playing the oboe? Also how much money
do you want to spend for one? I'd buy the best oboe I could get for
the price I can afford.
There are some people on this board who can give you good advice on
oboes.
