Thanks for all your advice. I know from playing a clarinet for years that a better instrument can make the difference between enjoyment and frustration. I played a school oboe in high school and I seem to remember that it was a wooden Buffet. I have old Noblet Oboe currently, and I'm not sure it is really worth the $400 plus it would take to restore it. Can a decent used one be had in the $1200 range?
