Check the tuning of the G2 and Ab2 on the cor with a tuner as they tend to be unstable and a little out of tune due to acoustical resonances with the bottom half of the instrument. The reed or bocal are not at fault so you can fix these notes by adding certain RH fingers to stabilize or tune them. Cors have these situations as well as oboe d'amores, and some oboes on F and F#. Many players don't seem to be concerned about this, however.
You may find that a reed water plastic bottle clipped to the edge of the music stand with a very large spring paper clip is handy for dipping the reeds quickly.
