It's very interesting that you mention this, as, of course, I'm quite familiar with this story. In fact, if you scroll back to March 17th on the Oboe BB, you'll see my post entitled "Does deBusser=Debouchet" which refers to it. Unfortunately, it bombed! In doing some further research this very week, I read that, in fact, that Stokowski wanted "deBusser/Debouchet" or whatever his real name is, before Tabuteau! I found this info on the Stokowski website in either Tabuteau's bio or someplace close by. Now, there appears to be a lot of errors on that site, so I can't tell if this story is true or not, but it is shown there. Regards.
