Yes I did. Did you previously say dynamics were not so grand? Certainly good dynamic range by my ears and great articulation + tuning.

What you describe, Howard, is so blooming close to my reeds it's almost scary.

I think D12 is the same as Chiarugi 3 and RC12 is essentially the RDG -2 (unless they started manufacturing their own). RDG -2 has a Chiarugi equivalent (perhaps one makes tools for the other?) and is almost the equivalent of Kunibert Michel 725 except it is a bit more curvy (less angular)... so it maintains its RDG sound characteristics.

Since I started recording the Nino Rota duets, there are about 3 reeds (with this setup) that I use almost exclusively and I made them last summer..... of course I must play only 1/20 as much as the typical pro.
=> I don't do wire except on very rare occasions, but I really thing this preference is due to my physiognomy

As long as the cane is well selected and the binding done right, these reeds always amaze me. Now, combine that with an oboe that does not restrict breath pressure and whose tuning can be depended on (rather than fought)....
