Glad you found this useful Loliver.
Just a heads-up, some people actually manage to play well without making their own reeds.... it's just the frustrating thing of finding a maker that suits your physical needs. I'm only saying this because to learn to make them without a teacher is pretty much asking for trouble! Even then, there is a paradox: to make good reeds, you have to be a solid player, but to become a solid player, you need good reeds!
That being said, I do encourage you to learn. Quite an adventure!
And the outdoor yank in temperature versus the climate in your room is another can of worms: I have found that reeds respond to outside weather independently of a building's climate control system.... but if you get a sauna because of sunshine heating up the room, that also messes-things up.... not just the reed, but my own physical ability to cope with it all.
...... hhhmmmmm, maybe THAT's what people are talking about when they say the oboe is the toughest instrument?????
