Well, if you're struggling with playing below forte, I don't believe clipping will help. I think a lot on this board play long scrape reeds. I don't know the first thing about short scrape reeds, but if this problem existed for someone that played on an American scrape, I would suggest that they've taken too much cane from the heart first or rails second, because it appears the reed is collapsing. It could also be that the reed was made too quickly, in which case the reed has had too much cane taked off of the reed, and no matter what you do, it's just past it's playable time limit. Have you considered:
1. Purchasing from a different supplier (it sounds like you don't make your own reeds yet)
2. Making your own reeds
3. Is there a tutor involved?
