As a teacher who has inherited students from other teachers, I am often baffled why other teachers centered so much on developing technique. True, you need great fingers and tongue, but anybody can play the notes. As a teacher, I focus on developing sound FIRST. There is nothing more beautiful than a beautiful oboe sound.
