Still, the foam carpet underpadding has lasted me for years wihout fail and is really easy to cut with a metal ruler and an X-Acto, Olfa, Stanley or any retractable blade knife.
And no need to worry about cleanliness: there's nothing more to worry about it than velveteen. At worse, spray it with Lysol!
