I was a long-time clarinetist (32 years). I decided to take up oboe when our church orchestra needed an oboist. My husband searched and found one for me on e-bay. It was in excellent condition. I realize this may have been a "lucky purchase" as some things from e-bay are really worthless. But we took it to the woodwind repair shop in our area to have it evaluated before I even played it the first time. Only one pad needed replacing.
