If you want an all plastic intermediate level oboe, then a Fox 330 will probably be the best one and you'll find several listed on eBay. For all wooden intermediate level oboes, look out for used Howarth S40c or S45c, Rigoutat Riec, Strasser (made by Marigaux) or Cabart 74 (made by Loree) oboes.
But do keep a lookout for used pro models - Buffet (the ones that say 'Made in France' on them), Howarth, Loree, Marigaux, Rigoutat or Yamaha.
And don't use reeds that are too hard as you'll only get frustrated with them, plus find a teacher who can show you how to adjust bought reeds to make them work for you.
Reeds will always be your biggest headache once you take the plunge into the oboe world, but don't let them get the better of you. Adding oboe to your sax and clarinet playing will only increase the amount of playing you'll get. Later on you'll probably add cor anglais as well which is a much more rewarding and far less troublesome instrument to play in many respects than oboe.
