Years ago, I oiled my Loree with linseed oil when I had the keys off. After reassembling it, it was extremely dead sounding because the linseed oil was not dried yet. After several days to dry out, the oboe sounded fine with no permanent damage. Almond oil is probably a much better choice. Buffet does not recommend oiling their new clarinets, by the way.
