Hello all again,
I went out to the local oboe shop today and looked at full conserv. oboes, in particular the fox, larilee and the fassati lines. I liked both the fox 400 and the fassati artiste. The artiste is the middle line "professonal model", and I fell in love with it... Unfortunitly locally the artiste is a little much (they are asked 3695 + tax), I can get it online for that much with no tax (over 250 dollars in tax locally). After trying all three the artiste is my first choice and since I plan on keeping the instrument for a while I might get that one in a few weeks.
Now they do offer the instrument in violet wood and a few other choices. I was told though although the other woods are beautiful to stay away from them on a first time pro level oboe. Any reasons why?
Thanks as alwaysl
