I do not know what level in physics you are in. But if you had a college introductory level physics, you could start here. Professor Joe Wolfe has done a lots of work in the past twenty years or so. Since the passing of Professor Benade, Wolfe is the most active musical acoustic physicists I know, especially for winds instruments. Probably you will get more authoritative information there than from the BBoard.
