It's a good point. I'm curious about the Products out there for reed-cleaning.
Most anti-microbials have a drying effect on the cane. 10% bleach solution, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide -- the standard medical answers, would likely wreck a reed if used more than once or so.
Boiling hot water would take its toll too, on cane.
Who out there uses the electronic devices?
I will be 'shopping' for a solution that contains benzalkonium chloride, which actually replaced alcohol swabs for a time, and have since (for some unknown reason) fallen out of favor. If I find it, I'll let the oboe b-boarders know how it works.
