Robin -- Two suggestions: first, use an easier, freer reed which requires less lip pressure and on which your mouth can be more open without the reed producing a wild sound; second, although it might be useful for finger work, never play past when your embouchure tires, as you will simply instill bad habits. Instead, pick up the instrument many times throughout the day for short periods of time, and you will gradually be able to increase the length of each session.
Enjoy the ride!
