I have a student whose parents purchased a Barrington oboe for her. It plays well, the wood reminds me of the Buffet Greenline plastic-wood composition. Full conservatory keys (3rd oct, left F, F-resonance, low b-flat, b-flat resonance, etc), and the upper joint held suction for about 20 seconds which surprised me! I didn't care for how the bridge keys lined up (causing the middle b-flat and c to be a little flat), the scale wasn't as even as my Marigaux and the bottom notes weren't as free blowing, but it seemed a great instrument.. especially for the price. Happy hunting.
