The Oboe BBoard

Anybody tried this instrument?
I play the clarinet and the recorder as a hobby and lately have been obsessed with trying to learn the oboe. This is just a pure little fantasy, I will not play with others (except surely with my 12 yo son who is a flutist in his school band), I will not take lessons. It is just for fun.
I have been shopping and reading all I can. I set an extreme limit of 1000 dollars and compared all the options. I was ready to settle for a used Yamada 211 on EBay when I found out this Barrington WWBW sells for $750. The reviews on their website sounds rather positive. And it's very good looking brushed plastic with all the keys I will every likely need. Now, is this a cheap chinese import, which is commonly known on the Clarinet Board as an OSO (oboe shaped object)?
All comments are appreciated.
