... glad somebody mentioned pro & cons of o-ringing old tubes, i was wondering if it might be the way to go, but does seem like more trouble than the expense is worth
... so instead, i've been cleaning all the glue & cork off my useless brass tubes, will polish & shine them just before varnishing them, and i'm collecting them until i have enough to dress up the fringes on the back & front yokes of a uniquely oboe themed western / indian type casual costume vest or jacket
