It seems to me that, with a well-fitting mandrel that can be used to make sure the inner form of staples is still true, there is no reason to ever throw away the metal part of a staple. However, the cork will wear out. Does anyone here ever "recork" their staples? It would seem that staple makers must have access to cork tubes that can be glued on to an old staple. Anyone know where I could get such stuff?
