Several companies make basic beginner model oboes in both wood and plastic (or wood with a plastic lined bore) with the minimum of keywork (far less than found on an entry level Bundy) or with mostly plain toneholes to get youngsters starting out on a lightweight instrument.

The opinions I express are my own.
