I have a similar problem. My tuner is an old Korg (halfway between the 9-volt and triple A models I guess - it uses double As.) I had to concede that I was the unstable part of the equation. Sometimes, just for practice, I stare at the needle and will myself to a perfect 440. At one sectional our "concertmaster" clarinetist did not show up and I had to give the band a B flat. For about 4 minutes (with breaths of course). "Why are you so red?" asked the piccolo player!!! Anyway, other than the tuning process I think that most of us unconsciously adjust to play harmoniously with our colleagues. Our band director says focusing exclusively on the tuner can make one crazy! Bottom line - I know it's my embouchure and I'm working on it.
