Very interesting Bobo! Because my E is very stable on my instrument. Thanks for trying and giving comments on them, very useful thoughts. I was just practising the last D major scale run to high G on the bottom of the 2nd last page of the Saint Saens sonata (Durand) and was thinking on which fingerings to use, and those short fingerings came pretty handy. After reading your comments i think i should sit down and figure out the top note fingerings once again just to reinvent myself and make myself more flexible in this range, which i am honestly not so good in.
