I understand that an oboe embouchure is quite different
from the embouchure used on a clarinet. Can you afford a
few oboe lessons to get you started in the right direction?

Also keep in mind the expense of the reeds. I spend about
$32.00 to $40.00 a month on reeds. That would be two-plus
reeds a month. Many oboist make their own reeds.

I just think that you should have all the facts before you make
a decision to buy the oboe. It's a great instrument.
