Sound alchemy are oboes are oboes made or finished by Yan Petrov. Maybe he receives the rights for stamping Bulgheronis and importing them to the US? He makes EXCEPTIONAL oboes and is an expert craftsman in everything oboe related (cases and bags too). My current teacher plays a Sound Alchemy (I think an altered Howarth!) which is absolutely fantastic and my formers teachers have all been customers of him in some way or another. But he is UK based of course. I think Chris should have a very good idea on this.
As for Bulgheronis, they may not be as well known in the US, but they are known to be extremely well built oboes and fabulous at times (as with ANY BRAND!) in Europe and Asia. I once borrowed one from my teacher when my Loree was off in the repair shop and that 3 weeks was really quite enjoyable!
