I found that using the cor for a prolonged period of time without a strap gave me problems in the right thumb region, and so limited movement in the rest of the hand. So, I gave a strap a go. BG make an excellent one [mine came via Howarth] with an elasticated section so you don't feel constrained by it. Result -> less lopsided in playing and much more comfortable! And you can always wear the strap and just not use it for doubling sections where you have to change rapidly...
