If you're in to the Philly sound, Montreal Symphony Orchestra recordings are great! Principal oboist Theodore Baskin's playing pleases many (I often find his sound a bit small when I hear the orchestra live, but he sounds delightful on recordings), and brace yourself for mindblowing cor anglais passages, Pierre-Vincent Plante is one of my favorite CA players EVER (and I'm not just saying that because he once was my oboe professor!).
Pretty much every recording dating as far back as 1985 (maybe even 1983-4, I'm not quite sure) features these two solid players.
