Allan Vogel plays with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and teaches at USC, CalArts, and Colburn in Los Angeles. I've only seen him perform live once when the LACO did a chamber series featuring Alan Vogel and Kim Gilad in downtown LA last year and I loved it. I wish they did more things in Los Angeles.
An interesting tidbit Allan Vogel shared at the concert was that he was planning on joining the choir until he heard a recording of the oboe solo in Swan Lake and decided he wanted to play that instrument instead.
