Very interesting, Bucky, can you tell us more what "sax fingerings" imply. There was the military oboe, of the turn of the century, which made use of the 1st and 2nd fingers LH for mid staff B/C, for which the "Barret[t] Action" is now the generally accepted improvement. I have 2 of these "simple system" oboes which have some things in common with the Albert-Muller clarinets. Its interesting that several of our reed insts have much in common, re: fingerings, reeds and playing. Don
