I know the Howarth 2BM makes my Marigaux sing much better than the Marigaux crooks that came with it, though I tried a Loree crook and it didn't work for me. I am still using the Marigaux crooks though, one day I'll get a Howarth 2BM.

But beware that Marigaux cors have a wider crook socket than most makes, so they won't fit a Loree or Howarth cor without a bit of sanding down. Likewise with Loree or Howarth crooks - they need a thicker cork to fit a Marigaux, or some masking tape stuck around the cork.

It has been said that German crooks don't go too well with French-style cors, so Moennig or Puchner crooks may or may not work - though try them out for yourself to judge this matter. Ludwig Frank cors come with Moennig crooks, but they are German cors anyway.
