Advice needed for new oboe

Hello, I'm a sax doubler. I've been playing an old wood Linton (c. 1940s) oboe that has rings instead of keys. Since I learned clarinet long before I took up this horn, it was no problem.

Anyway, I'm getting really good and my oboe teacher wants me to eventually get a better instrument. Mine is actually a sweet little horn; the problem is that from hi E to G tend to be very sharp. She wants me to not have to cover these notes all the time to keep them in tune.

I'm a little lost when I look at all the options out there. Can anyone give me advice as to some good horns in different price ranges? Also, if anyone has a good used oboe that they are looking to sell, feel free to contact me. Thank you.

Extra credit question: Do you think wood oboes have a better tone quality than plastic? If so, is it worth the bread to spend more for the wood?
