Re: When is everybody using Left F?

Since I came from flute I never touched that right Ab. The left Ab was fine and dandy. I do wonder if there is an occaision where the right Ab would be useful... other than for right handed people (I am a righty).

Left F is actually very convenient for me.. it's just that darned left Eb that drives me batty. I have to consciously stop myself from shifting my third finger off the half hole when playing left Ebs.

Wkleung have you tried flattening via your embouchure? You can flatten down a couple notes via relaxation. For me if I have a reed that make a certain range a bit sharper than norm I just focus my mouth out with an ohm shape. Making the embouchure more circlular with less pressure on the reed. You can practice with the reed by flatting as much as possible and sharping just by pressing the reed against the lips releasing and relaxing to flatten more. Looking at a tuner while doing this helps a great deal as you can see how many notes you can achieve on the reed alone.
