Mark and all, I live in a small town and play with a mostly over 50 group. Some don't even have e-mail. My husband's Lumix camera took a beautiful high definition video in the .mts format. He can view it on his PC and he converted it to .wmv and put it on a DVD which no one else can play on their PCs and which doesn't play in a home TV DVD player. (Two people got the video to play from the DVD but one doesn't know how because it didn't play the first time she tried and the other isn't in the band. They all insist that Windows Explorer is up to date. Of course it plays consistently and beautifully on the HP laptop we have.) Enter the MAC. My MAC doesn't support .mts in iMovie or iDvd. So I got a conversion program, iVI, to convert the .mts file to .m4v so I could make a TV friendly DVD. I took the .mts from a flash drive supplied by my long suffering husband. Now I have a .m4v video that I can watch but where the music starts several seconds before the conductor gives the downbeat. The players would love to have a DVD that plays on their TV. Most of their computers are old and can't play the disk we made. I despair.
