I agree with the idea that a teacher would be of help to the original poster. If lessons are not possible, then still, perhaps you can find someone at a local music school or university who would be willing to sell you some reeds like they use.

I agree that it is valuable to have reeds made in a climate similar to the area where you live. And I also agree that the reeds you can buy at most music stores are not worth the thread they are wrapped with. I have never had a good reed from those sources.
