re: community symphony again:
at my last audition the conductor heard me play a passage I'd selected, then asked for something 'more lyrical'. He wanted to hear expression.
So I had along something to meet that request.

DO give your auditioners all respect.
DO go prepared with a piece you are good at.
DO smile and be pleasant, but you won't have any difficulty with that.
DO thank them for their time when it's done, no matter how you feel the 'performance' went.

And audition or not, keep playing!!
