My daughter never had a transition period on the oboe. She just started playing it pretty well the first day she got it. She thought it was easy.

She doesn't want to study doubling in college. She wants to study both oboe and sax as primary instruments. She'd like to be a symphonic oboe player, or a sax player in a military band. At the same time, she's gaining experience as a doubler, and will perform in her 7th musical this summer, this time as a paid performer in a dinner theater.
