Be careful to avoid sudden dramatic changes in temp for the oboe,especially if its wood.
If a car is warm, oboe is warm from practice and in its case, leaving it in a car for a while at 35degrees ( say 30 minutes) should not hurt it.
Hopefully you have a nice case cover ( some insulation) and a brief case of sorts to put that into.
The more layers the better...
If its really cold out, say under 20 degrees, I sometimes carry the oboe case under my over coat against my chest.
And too hot is bad, too. Never leave your oboe where you would not leave your dog.
And one other thing... oboes are easily stollen from cars. Never leave it in sight, and trunks can get way too cold.
