Answering my own question:
I am not much of a soloist, but I do love chamber music with oboe, and play it whenever I get the chance.
My favorite piece -- which I have prepared, but never played (for want of a pianist, at the time) is the 3rd movement of the Poulenc Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano.
There is a very good recording of this piece by Joe Robinson and other NY Phil players on a CD entitled "Joseph Robinson: New York Legends". (Available at Forrests and other places).
I like this CD because it has some fairly unusual things on it, including the William Grant Still "Incantation and Dance" (which is one of the few solo pieces I play -- used it for an audition this past summer, successfully!), and the Madeleine Dring oboe trio, which is something I would LIKE to play someday.
