I've never had Pat McFarland do any work for me, but I know his reputation is excellent. He's very knowledgeable about both oboe and English horn, and has written one of the most popular available guides to adjusting the oboe.

In New York City, I could highly, highly recommend Margaret Noble of OboeWorks http://www.oboeworks.com/. I routinely send my oboe to her (UPS). She is a wonderful communicator, quick worker, and top-drawer technician. You have to schedule time for your instrument to be with her -- she is booked in advance.
