 Oboe Repairmen Question
Author: hautboy
Date:   2010-03-09 17:42

I'm going to be near Atlanta to visit my sister in law. I was wondering if anyone ever sent their oboe to Pat McFarland for repairs or an overhaul. I figure if I'm going to be out there I may consider giving him a try. I'm also not too far from Toronto and I was wondering about Gary Armstrong. I live in New York State, but the instrument repair people I know in NYS live closer to NY City. This is a 6 1/2 hour drive for me. I could of course send my oboe. Does anyone have any thoughts on either of these repairmen or could maybe make a recommendation? I don't think I need a complete overhaul, but I do need some things done. I had to use my spare oboe for a concert as it worked better than my newer oboe.
