All this makes me wonder...

If such a substantial amount of modification is required for most people to have these notes sound good and secure, why do instrument makers not have it that way in the first place? I spoke to many many people who share the same notion as me. It quite boggles me. I am sending my Buffet back to Germany to see whether they can make similar modifications.

On a side note, i want to comment on the unfortunate craftsmanship of my new Buffet. The left side bar that holds all the left hand feather keys is now in a state where it shifts too much. According to my repairman, there should be a small lee way but my whole bar is shifiting unusually more. This has been causing my low D key to not raise completely, especially in situations where i need to play a low E or left Eb, rendering it unuseable now. Frustrating!
