I have had this issue on and off, which I usually solve with the "dollar bill trick" mentioned above. I recently brought my instrument in for service for this problem to a very experienced repair person in Philadelphia (Michael Hammer) who removed the key and applied lemon oil to the pad with a q-tip. Worked like a charm.
