The Oboe BBoard

Thanks everybody! I think that Elizabeth is right about the indentation, and in addition the problem is exacerbated by the increasingly humid northeast weather. I may also be applying a bit of pressure to the 2nd octave key when putting the oboe together, which I will try to watch out for. I do put cigarette paper under the pad every time I put it away, but that apparently hasn't been enough to prevent the problem from occurring. I have not yet had the oboe serviced...I've oiled the mechanism a few times and adjusted it myself every few months, but it could probably use a professional tweaking. I'm also happy to report that it hasn't cracked. I oiled the bore a few times the first year, am an assiduous swabber and warm up the oboe carefully. Or it could be I just got lucky!
