I don't normally measure the tip because I know approximately just how thin it needs to get (about .03 on the corners, thicker as it gets to the integration line.)
I measure 9 spots in the heart; 3 spots in the channels (between the rails and the spine) on each side, and 3 spots on the spine.
Heart: Closest to the tip
.43 .47 .43
.46 .51 .46
.43 .47 .43
This sometimes varies a .01 of a millimeter depending on the hardness of the cane and the gouge, but usually around these numbers.
Right behind the heart at the thinnest place of the heart I measure around .35.
Usually when I get extra buzz in my sound it's because one side is thicker than the other.
Hope this helps.
Also, there's a chart on Martin Schuring's website.
