I just finished a weekend of pops shows - songs from the 60s with singers: there were lots and lots of both sharps and flats. I was on EH so my key signatures were even more crazy. Yikes! This music had a lot of modulating up by half steps and/or whole steps, so we were changing keys constantly.
Learn to play all those pesky alternate fingerings because they ultimately make the complicated keys somewhat manageable.
