vboboe you are definatly correct about the jones reeds sounding alot nicer than before. When i first started i could sound louder than my bari sax with ease, now that i think about it my tone has definatly imporved since last year. So much more pleasant and resonant now. These memories keep me going becouse i now picture myself in three or four yrs saying the same about my currnet tone.
i started a daily journal about my tone. i think it is very helpful becouse i have to realy think hard about how to define what are the pros and cons, helping me relize my tone in a different way. Before i would say that sounded nasty or ugly and that didn't get anywere.
I wake up go to School, then Band Practice, then Practice my Oboe, then Sleep..... The wake up and do it again.
