Hello everyone. I've been something of a lurker here for a while, and I always find something interesting and/or informative, so now that I find myself in need of some advice, it seemed natural to ask here. I will be playing oboe and oboe d'amore in a church performance of the Bach Magnificat in December. I'm pretty adept at the oboe, having studied it in college and grad school as a performance major, but I have never played the d'amore. Our music director is handling the rental/borrowing of the instrument, so I don't know yet what it will be, but I wonder if anyone has any general d'amore advice. Are there tendencies to be aware of, tips, tricks, pitfalls? I appreciate your input.
