Hah. Me too. The "Mystery Reed", with red thread. NO idea where I got it from, but I suspect it's one of Giardinelli's house brand "Premium" reeds, which they no longer make, and which I vaguely remember ordering back when I first got started (which would have been Summer 2005).
I write the strength as well as the maker on the cork.
And when I get multiple reeds from the same maker, I number them, because sometimes one reed will play better, or differently, than its mate. So, for example, I've got a whole collection of Gower reeds in the "Used" box that go up to about #16.
